Gustav Klimt: Tree of Life

Klimt Immersive Experience

Until October 5

After Van Gogh and Monet, Budapest offers another immersive experience: the Viennese genius Gustav Klimt. This is far from a simple exhibition: the most beautiful works of the Viennese Art Nouveau come to life through a breathtaking audio-visual experience. Stunning light and sound effects project the works of one of the most iconic artists in Art Nouveau painting. The exhibition provides a window into the artist’s life, his muses, his passions, and his achievements.

Events in Budapest: Art Nouveau posters exhibition
József Rippl-Rónai, Poster

Art Nouveau Posters Exhibition

Until October 5

The exhibition shows the best years of Hungarian poster art. This happened between the 1800s and 1900s in the style of Art Nouveau.

It has about 120 posters. Some are by famous painters like József Rippl-Rónai, János Vaszary, and Károly Ferenczy. Others are by artists who focused on posters, like Géza Faragó, Mihály Biró, Ferenc Helbing and Márton Tuszkay.

The exhibition also puts Hungarian poster art history in an international context. It includes works by poster greats like Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Koloman Moser and others. This shows how the art form began in Hungary compared to other countries.

Art Works by Winners of Marcel Duchamp Prize, one of the exciting events in Budapest
Marcel Duchamp

Art Works by Winners of Marcel Duchamp Prize

Until August 25

The Ludwig Museum in Budapest is showing recent French contemporary art through the works of the winners or nominees of the prestigious Marcel Duchamp Prize. The exhibition includes 18 artists, most of whom are big names in international art. Marcel Duchamp is associated with many artistic movements, from Cubism to Dada to Surrealism, and paved the way for later styles such as Pop (Andy Warhol), Minimalism (Robert Morris), and Conceptualism (Sol LeWitt).
